Women novelists - how different

Women writers have been accused on writing only about woes of women, that novel after novel reiterates this in one form are the other. Even if your to agree that women indeed write about there problems, we need to inquire it such a rendering is not creative and does not bring with it, the writer's location and position. Women novelist which talks about and educated middle class house wife suddenly yearning to know her name, totally inane and absurd? if you look at it from the perspective of those who find women novelist writing reductive, we may conclude quite easily that Anita Desai's where shall we go this summer? reiterates the theme of a women dissatisfied with her marital life. Women novelist can use her brain with opaque mind of some gigantic undersea creature that had leaved all is life for beneath the level where light penetrated and that had, in the creature's tormented death pangs, burst forth from white skull - washed and washed again to the unearthly whiteness. Another accusation of that women novelist writing is not universal. We need to question the very basis of universality. Winner of the Sahitya Akademi award for her novel, Fire on the mountain, Anitha Desai as attempeted to capture the impact of societal forces on the psyche of a women.
