A self-defence activities
Self Defence requires the individual to use body control, hand and eye coordination skills.
Self-defence involves more than just blocking, dodging, kicking, punching and throwing.
There are a number of self-defence techniques, and all of them are very effective. To master one form of self-defence takes many years to learn. There are many places which provide classes in Aikido, Jujitsu, judo, Karate and Tae Know Do and/or basic self-defence classes.
ATTITUDE:
1 Be confident (keep your head up),
2 Be alert (be aware),
3 Be assertive
AWARENESS:
1 Be aware of your surroundings at all time (scan the area before you enter)
2 Be aware of dangerous parking lots (park close to building, and lighted areas)
AVODANCE:
Avoid high crime areas.
Avoid going to parties or events by yourself (always going in groups).
Avoid alcohol and drugs.
Don't put yourself in a situation you are not able to handle responsibly.
Self Defence uses all five of the skills related fitness components.
Aglity-needed to be able to maneuver (a planned movement) around your opponent.
Balance-is required to maintain to protect your body and face
Coordination-is required in order or punch, kick block your opponent's attacks
Power- is the victim's ability to put force into a punch, kick or block
Speed- is the victim's ability to run from an attacker.
